Hollow glass microspheres are a new type of multifunctional filling material with ultra-fine hollow spherical shapes
that are gray white or light gray in color. Their main components are silicon dioxide and alumina, with a bulk density
of 0.9-1.2 grams per cubic centimeter and a true density of 1.7 grams per cubic centimeter. The particle size of the
spheres is between 44-2.6 microns (divided into 325 mesh, 500 mesh, 800 mesh, 1250 mesh, 2500 mesh, 5000
mesh), and the sphericity is greater than 95%. They have a hard outer shell and are wrapped with inert gases such
as nitrogen dioxide and carbon dioxide. The material has high pressure resistance strength (4000-7000 MPa), good
wear resistance, and a fire resistance of over 1450 degrees. It has excellent chemical stability and can withstand
common acid, alkali, and salt solutions. It also provides sound and heat insulation (with a conductivity coefficient
of 0.10-0.12).

1: Increasing strength and improving performance: Typically, filling materials leave some soft or irregular particles on
the surface of the material, which are prone to wear. Hollow glass microspheres have high fineness, greatly increasing
scratch resistance and reducing friction coefficient, resulting in a comprehensive improvement in performance.
2: Cost reduction: Hollow microspheres have the lowest oil absorption rate (15-18%), which is less than one-third of talc
powder and calcium carbonate. Using hollow microspheres as fillers has little impact on the impact toughness
of the material and can be added in large quantities, up to 70%. At the same time, due to the good flowability of
hollow glass microspheres, the mixture can be formed in small molds without the need for heating and pressure,
simplifying the manufacturing process and reducing product costs.
